Waiting for your JetBlue TrueBlue points from Amazon purchases? You might need to wait just a little bit longer than previously anticipated. The company updated the fine print on the offer page at some point between December 29th and January 19th to add “at least” to how long it will take for points to be credited.

This is not too surprising given the way Amazon reports affiliate earnings to partners. Typically the results are delivered monthly, 60 days after the period closes. That means the report for October earnings was issued at the end of December. And then JetBlue has to process that and get the points into the accounts. This means that for a transaction in early December when the program launched will likely not be reported to JetBlue until the end of February and then credited to TrueBlue accounts after that. The total lag could be 90 days depending on when the order posts.
It is still essentially free points if you’re going to be shopping on Amazon anyways. But it is also a slow play, not a good way to quickly earn. And it turns out the earn will be even a little slower than initially predicted. Turns out we’ll all need just a bit more patience on this one.
